Parent Support Services

Parent involvement has been proven by three decades of research to be the greatest predictor of student success.

Wow—I can’t believe it’s almost the 100th day of school already! As we look forward, I am excited to share with you that we are planning parent workshops and purchasing resource materials to support you as you help your child with math, reading, technology, social skills and more. In addition to providing learn-ing opportunities and re-source materials, I am also here to support you in many other ways such as connecting you to school and community resources, lending a listening ear, reminding you about school activities, and keeping communication flowing. If you have questions, comments, con-cerns or kudos, I can be reached via e-mail at or via telephone at (410) 887- 0182. You can also find me in the gym in the morning or the school of-fice.

Why Join the Parent Teacher Assoc. (PTA)?

The #1 reason to join the PTA is to benefit your child. The PTA funds a va-riety of programs designed for students and parents such as Trunk or Treating and May Day. The PTA also funds the school store, supports the golden egg student reward cart, pur-chases books for the li-brary and much more. PTA meetings give you an oppor-tunity to network with

other parents and teachers and demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education. Ready to join? Applications are on the parent table in the lobby.

Volunteers Needed

The PTA needs volunteers to continue providing fun activities you and your chil-dren enjoy. By volunteering with the PTA, you can use your skills for a good cause. Volunteers must be 21 years old and complete a brief volunteer application and video training.

May Day is just around the corner, to be held on April 26. The event will not be possible without your help. Your help is needed with planning, set-up and clean-up as well as various duties throughout the day. Volun-teer today...send an e-mail to & stop by the office if you need volunteer training. Too busy to help? Ask your family members to pitch in!
